(Dec 2018)Japan Trip!

Food Page 1

If you were given the chance to go to Japan, would you take it? For me, its an absolute YES! Not only is it home to my favourite cultures and icons, it is also home to my favourite cuisine; Japanese Food! Japanese Food is the soul essence of what makes Japan, Japan and here are some of the eats I've devoured!

Sukiya (すき家)

Like Yoshinoya, Sukiya (すき家) is a food chain that sells don buri. Looking for a place to eat in outskirt Hokone, we decided to give it a try since it was nearby. Nonetheless, it tasted quite decent. It was not premium quality beef but it made the cut as it was tender and juicy. The raw egg(Tamago) was also a good compliment for the dish.

Pokemon Cafe Tokyo

Pokemon Cafe

Japan is the birth place of Pokemon. And being a Pokemon fan, I just had to go to the Pokemon Themed Cafe located in Tokyo! The cafe is located just next to the Pokemon Center Tokyo DX in Nihonbashi.

Beef Curry Rice!

Not many character themed cafes serve food of standard. However, the Pokemon Cafe breaks the stereotype with finger licking food with families in mind.

Gyukatsu-Motomura

Gyukatsu-Motomura

You've heard of Katsu don, but have you heard of Gyu Katsu? Gyu Katsu is basically deep fried beef cutlets instead of pork/chicken.

Stoves used

The restaurant also requires you to cook your own Gyu Katsu using the traditional charcoal powered slabs; a call back to traditional Japan.

Beef Set

This was the original set I was served. Though it was a little on the expensive side, it was still very worth it.(Talk about premium quality beef!)

To conclude, Japanese cuisine is really what reflects Japan's unique culture. To whoever who goes to Japan, you are in for a wild ride when you step foot into the land of the rising sun!
